The Health and Social Care Diploma Level 4 is designed to equip students with foundational knowledge and skills to work in care services. OVERVIEW

This Level 4 qualification is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree and awards students 120 credits upon completion. It serves as an excellent starting point for those pursuing a career in health and social care. Students who complete Level 4 may also apply for exemptions from the first year of relevant university degree programmes.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be 18 years or older and possess a high school education or relevant vocational experience.

STUDY HOURS

The course comprises six modules, each contributing to a total of 120 credits. Each module requires approximately 40 hours of study. The programme is designed for flexible learning, allowing students to progress at their own pace. To complete the qualification, students must also submit six written assignments, each ranging between 5,000 and 8,000 words.

University Pathway

Diploma Level 5

Students study diploma levels 4 and 5 for 2 years (240) credits then complete the final year at a UK University either via distance learning or in the UK on campus.

Once you’ve completed your diploma Level 4 & 5 you have the opportunity to complete a third-year, known as a ‘BSc top up’, from a wide range of UK universities.

Students can apply to any university offering the BA top up and you can choose to study for your degree either online or in-person on campus.

This module covers the recruitment, management, and development of staff within health and social care settings, helping learners understand workplace processes and people management.

Sociology: Concepts in Health and Ill Health

Learners gain insight into sociological perspectives on health and illness. The module examines societal influences on health perceptions and care practices in contemporary settings.
